Micro:bit Madness invites campers into the exciting world of microcontrollers, where coding comes to life through games, experiments, and interactive builds. In this mission, apprentices take their coding and robotics skills to the next level by exploring the power of the micro:bit, learning how inputs and outputs work, and turning ideas into functioning projects. Campers will build buttons to control their micro:bit, create arcade-style games with score tracking, and transform their device into a scientific instrument to measure their surroundings. Through hands-on challenges and creative problem-solving, students develop confidence, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of how real-world technology works.

Art history meets game strategy in this camp. Steamoji Junior Apprentices (ages 5-7) will invent and build their own art-inspired mini-games, merging artistic skills with critical thinking to combine the gallery with the game world.

Every day is a creative bonanza where their imaginations set the scene and game design brings the structure, resulting in a collection of fun games that they’ve plotted and crafted themselves.

From pens and markers to sculpting and LED lights, Apprentices will use classic and contemporary design principles as a springboard for their own unique artwork. It’s a place where math and art meet up to make magic. So – who’s ready to play?!

Using a combination of coding, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and circuit-building, they’ll plan, design, and build a creation straight out of their imagination. Campers will start by mastering shapes, navigation, grouping, and editing. Then, they’ll unleash their creativity by combining these skills to create unique 3D designs using Tinkercad’s features, including the fun "Scribble" tool. Once their designs are complete, they’ll save and share them with our facilitators to bring their creations to life through 3D printing. By the end of the camp, every child will have their own custom 3D-printed design to take home! This camp is perfect for curious minds who love to create and build.

In this camp, apprentices join a team of like-minded engineers to dream up, design and construct a twisty downhill run. They'll turn cardboard, paper, straws and other household materials into a roller coaster... for marbles!

Apprentices will learn every step of the design process as they research, prototype, test and assemble their marble run. By the end of the week they'll have built a fascinating, gravity-defying structure, that combines creativity with their new engineering skills. Let's Get Building!

Incoming! In this camp, Apprentices will become engineers as they work in teams to build the strongest catapult and tallest tower that they can. To conquer the challenge, they'll learn about levers and mechanical advantage, building techniques and balance. As well as becoming masterful engineers, they’ll tap into their creative side and make colorful birds and mascots to launch from the catapult. On the last day, teams will face off to try and knock down their opponents' towers before their tower is tumbled, too!

Push, pull, lift or flip your opponent's robot out of the arena to claim victory and become the Steamoji Robo Battle Master! In this week-long camp, you’ll combine a whole suite of STEAM skills to design, prototype, code and build your very own battle robot that will face off against your fellow campers at the end of the week.

You will learn:

• Coding - Code a Micro:bit microcontroller as the “brain” of your battle bot
• Engineering - Planning, prototyping, evaluating and improving
• 3D Printing - Use 3D design and printing to make additional components for your robot

In this hands-on STEM camp, young makers will design and build their own robots while creating a miniature city where their inventions can live, move, and shine.

Campers will:

• Build two original robots using creative materials and beginner electronics

• Design and construct elements of a growing mini city

• Collaborate to combine their creations into one shared Robot Metropolis
