BUILD TO SOLVE SUMMER CAMP (AM) / Ages 5-9
Steamoji’s “Build to Solve” program complements and enriches children’s school studies by exposing them to new technologies in fabrication, physical computing, engineering and digital arts.
This hands-on maker camp for children ages 5-9 introduces core fabrication and applied design skills that will set apprentices off on a creative journey, while building their confidence by taking risks in their designs.
INTRO TO ROBOTICS SUMMER CAMP (PM) / Ages 5-9
Steamoji’s physical computing program teaches apprentices how to combine problem solving, computational thinking, and creative design to transform their ideas into tangible products they can use and interact with.
In this fun robotics camp for children ages 5-9, apprentices will learn fundamental robotic skills as they create their own robot that reacts to coded instructions while learning how to troubleshoot problems along the way.
DESIGNING FOR 3D PRINTING AND LASER CUTTING (AM) / Ages 10-14
3D printers and laser cutters are valuable prototyping tools that Steamoji apprentices can use to bring their concepts to life.
In this entry-level camp for 10-14 year olds, apprentices will design in both 2D and 3D, fabricate their components with 3D printers and laser cutters, then assemble these components into a fully functional solution.
PHYSICAL COMPUTING WITH MICROCONTROLLERS (PM) / Ages 10-14
Microcontrollers like micro:bits and circuit boards are useful tools for teaching apprentices how to use their devices to manipulate and control real world objects.
This exciting camp for 10-14 year olds will develop their skills as coders and roboticists as they develop a robot that has expanded intelligence and is able to navigate an obstacle course on its own.
